Game of Thrones has long captivated audiences with its incredible political intrigue, sudden character deaths and epic battles. As the series progressed, however, the quality began to decline. But even the early seasons of the legendary show were not without their flaws.

And many viewers were unhappy with the casting of some of the roles. Either they did not look like their book counterparts, or the actors did not have enough skill to convey the full depth of their characters.

3. Kit Harington as Jon Snow

The role of Ned Stark's illegitimate son, who turned out to be a direct heir to the Targaryens, was played by Kit Harington. At first, the audience liked the actor in the part of the mysterious and alienated Jon Snow. But as the series progressed, it became clear to fans that Harington had a limited range as an actor.

He struggled to convey all the nuances of his character, torn between his duty to the Night's Watch and his family caught up in the war. Harington couldn't handle the inner turmoil and emotional depth that George R.R. Martin gave Jon Snow.

2. Michiel Huisman as Daario Naharis

Michiel Huisman became a hostage to circumstance, replacing Ed Skrein, who initially did well with the character of a charming and cunning merchant who becomes Daenerys Targaryen's love interest.

Michiel Huisman's character lacked charisma, tension, and chemistry with her romantic partner, Dany. The character was more of a charming knight than a conniving mercenary out for his own ends.

1. Sophie Turner as Sansa Stark

Sophie Turner played the eldest daughter of the Stark family, but her acting skills have been criticized by viewers since the early seasons. Though Turner has occasionally shown flashes of brilliance, she has often seemed unconvincing and failed to capture the essence of the Lady of Winterfell.

Sansa is a complex and resilient character who undergoes significant character changes over the course of the show. But fans have often complained about Turner's unemotional portrayal of Ned's daughter. Unfortunately, the actress' interpretation lacked the emotional depth and nuance necessary to portray Lady Stark on screen.
